HISTORY OF PRODUCTION
India exported significant amounts of sticklac derivatives, especially lac dye, from the 1700s to the late 1800s. Production declined as synthetic dyes emerged, and after the late 1940s, production of seedlac and shellac also declined due to replacement.[3]
In the mid-1950s, India annually produced about 50,000 tons of sticklac and exported about 29,000 tons of lac; by the late 1980s the figures were about 12,000 tons and 7,000 tons, respectively. By 1992-93, India's lac exports fell further to 4,500 tons. In the same period, Thailand's production increased somewhat, with annual lac exports of around 7,000 tons in the 1990s, mainly of seedlac. China exported only about 500 tons of shellac per year in the 1990s but produced more lac internally: 4,000-5,000 tons of sticklac and 2,000-3,000 tons of shellac in Yunnan province, with additional, smaller production in Fujian province. While India, Thailand, and China are the major lac producers, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka also play small roles.[3]

2) HAND MADE SHELLAC- Our offered range also includes hand made shellac. These seedlac can be converted into shellac through any process i.e. either by traditional hand made process or modern machine made process. The hand made shellac is produced by blending seedlac into a long narrow cloth bag and heating. One end is over a charcoal fire and the other end is attached to a windlass. It is gradually twisted. The charcoal fire produces heat and the charcoal melts in lac which is forced out through the cloth at a great pressure. The molten lac is scraped out and drawn into sheets manually and left to dry. Considerable manual skills and long experience is required for this process.
We offer these grades of hand made shellac:

6)ALEURITIC ACID- Aleuritic Acid (9, 10, 16-trihydroxypalmitic acid), obtained from shellac by saponification, is a unique acid containing three hydroxyl groups of which two are of adjacent carbon atoms.
Aleuritic Acid is moderately soluble in hot water and crystallises out on cooling the solution. It is soluble in the lower alcohols such as methyl, ethyl and isopropyl alcohols.
Techinal grade Aleuritic Acid (purity 99%) a slight yellow and almost odourless solid, is now manufactured by us. There is a continuous growing demand of aleuritic acid in the fields of perfumery and pharmaceuticals due to it being an excellent starting material for the synthesis of civetone, ambrettolide, isoambrettolide etc, which have the musk like odour .
